Parenting Concerns

Would it be helpful to share your concerns within a confidential and professional setting?

  • Are you concerned about your child?  Is their behaviour worrying you?
  • Is your child or teenager struggling with high levels of anxiety?
  • Do you worry that you are not parenting your child as well as you would like?  That the connection between you feels difficult or distant?
  • I can complete a full child and family assessment and report back to you usually between 4 to 6 hours of consultations.

Support for parents who may be separating; or have separated.

  • Do you need help to clarify the most supportive way to co-parent your children through your separation or post-separation?
  • Would you like support to negotiate a Care Plan?  I can help you with this process and register the Plan with the Family Court on your behalf.
  • I often work with The FDR Centre.  Check out their services with regard to the Family Proceedings Act 2014 and your pathway through Mediation or FDR – Family Dispute Resolution.

Parenting… one of the hardest,
most challenging things we do with the greatest reward.

There is an overwhelming amount of information we do and don’t know with most people Googling for advice.  And yet here is a reminder of the timeless difficulties parents have faced through generations before us!

Before I got married, I had six theories about bringing up children; now I have six children and no theories.

My bottom line in regards to the concerns you are having is this;

If you are feeling that you are not able to give your child as much of your focused time as you would like to – then you probably aren’t.

Being focused and with your child has value beyond compare, and with our busy lives and screen time competing, I find that it is often at the core of discontent…  yours and theirs!

If it is your child telling you that they are not right, not getting enough (often sullen, withdrawn or angry) of you, then they are right.  You may need to be more stubborn about this than they are.
